Taro KITAGAWA

Born 1976 in Hyogo, Live in Kyoto.

2007 MA Sculpture, Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts graduate school, Japan

His numerous achievements and diverse range of awards include being selected as a fellow in the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Study Program for Upcoming Artists and sent to South America. In 2010, he also held a solo exhibition at the Museo Pedro de Osma in Lima, Peru. He has developed a variety of approaches to shed light on the allure of stone, and participated in many exhibitions that serve as a wake-up call to the contemporary age with series such as Quietness, which draws on the charms of non-existent things, Space-time pyramid, which attempts to visualize time, and The World of Hand Thinking, which focuses on tactile sensations.
